Brief Essay On My Days And Dreams

My Days and Dreams Brief Essay
➽ Next year I hope to join the Delhi University B.Sc. class with Botany, Physics, chemistry and Optional English. My daily routine is early to bed and early to rise.

Dinner at about nine in the night, rest and conversation and some reading before falling asleep. I get up before sunrise.

For some time in a vacant mood I drink in the beauty and the balm of the morning and the morning air. toilet and ablutions are the next items and then some breakfast. The morning newspaper keeps me engaged till about 7 a.m.

➽ From 7 to 9 a.m. I study the books prescribed in my course of reading. After bath and early lunch I cycle to my college to join my classes from 10-30 a.m. to 3-30 p.m., when I cycle back home.

After a brief rest I resume my studies and keep at them for about an hour. Then I cycle to college again to take part in sports.

Before dark I return home. Rest, relaxation and recreation are my programme for the evening. About two hours every night I prepare my courses of study.

➽ The programme chalked out above is occasionally varied and modified-by-visits to cinema shows or other places of entertainment or by attending lectures and discourses.

On Sundays and other holidays I keep myself free to spend my time according to my mood at the moment. All this so far as my days are concerned.

➽ But I have also my dreams of the future. One may as well call them day-dreams. We own a furnished house, a modest bank balance and just five acres of fruit orchard and a flower and vegetable garden.

I am not keen on joining any service after completing my education. The income from our land is enough to keep us in comfort.

In fact, Alexander pope's stanzas from his "Ode on Solitude" express my dreams of the future so well:

Happy the man whose wish and care
A few paternal acres bound,
Content to breathe his native air
In his own ground...
Blest, who can unconcernedly find
Hours, days, and years, slide soft away
In health of body, peace of mind,
Quiet by day.
Sound sleep by night, study and ease
Together mixt, sweet recreation,
And innocence, which most does please
With meditation ......

➽ That will be an ideal life. But it will not be an idle life by any means. I plan to use my education for experiments and research work in agriculture.

If my circumstances permit I may visit some countries for the purpose of advanced research work in agriculture and horticulture.

➽ Connected with this is my other dream. I desire to write popular and rewarding books on fruit growing and vegetable growing. Poultry-keeping and bee-keeping are my other dreams.

I imagine my dreams, if fulfilled, should enable me to lead a quiet, contented, peaceful and thoughtful life. Such a life will keep me in direct, living contact with earth and nature.
